Our Green Conscience

In today’s world, the air we breathe and the water we drink must be protected. At the same time, aluminum is one of the most highly regulated materials in the U.S.

At Global Metal Finishing, we are committed to responsibly protecting our environment by meeting or exceeding all existing and expected federal and state environmental regulations.

Our facility is designed to convert spent chemicals to a non-hazardous form for disposal or recycling. Our dedicated haz-mat team monitors all waste to ensure nothing harmful escapes the plant to contaminate the air, water, or nearby soil.

We are always searching for ways to improve our processes, using chromium free dyes and chemicals such as RoHs compliant, non-hexavalent chromium (trivalent chromium), a more environment-friendly alternative chemical conversion coating.

The RoHS directive stands for “Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment.” RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of six hazardous materials—lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants—that are commonly found in electrical and electronic products.

Global Metal Finishing offers a RoHS compliant alternative to standard chromate conversion coatings.  Our product is hexavalent chromium-free, clear and provides the same treatment properties as our standard chromate finishes.

Since the formation of our company, safety, quality and environmental protection have been our watchwords. We maintain an open door policy concerning environmental inspections of our facility.
